Julia Mueller

LPC | ETS Owner & Clinician

Julia began her academic career as a political science major at Monmouth University. An as undergraduate, she enjoyed studying the psychological underpinnings of social and political movements. After graduating, she spent time caring for her late grandparents which proved to be as rewarding as it was challenging.

In 2015, Julia was accepted into Monmouth’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Having inherited a love for learning, she excelled in her coursework—paying particular attention to the role of neuroscience in mental health. For her practicum, she interned at a drug and alcohol treatment facility, gaining valuable insight into the complexity and mechanics of addiction.

Later she interned at Integrated Care Concepts and Consultation (ICCC). There, she gained experience in working with those affected by anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship/marriage/divorce challenges, trauma/abuse, occupational stress/burnout, and low self-esteem and self-confidence. Once licensed, Julia completed her supervised associate counselor hours at ICCC as well.

In her practice, Julia employs her counseling knowledge and experience as well as her empathy, compassion, and sense of humor to help others. Inspired by the work of psychologist and meditation teacher, Tara Brach, Ph.D., Julia tends to focus on themes such as acceptance, detachment, compassion, and mindfulness. She pays careful attention to the ways in which clients talk to and treat themselves, understanding the profound role that individuals’ inner dialogues play in their lives.

In her free time, Julia enjoys caring for her dogs, exercising, reading, researching just about anything, watching documentaries, and spending time with her husband and loved ones.
